Abstract:

Strategic alignment has had the attention of researcher and practitioners for some 15 years. This paper reports a survey of strategic alignment impacts on organizational performance in Indonesian banking industry. The survey was conducted through internet-based and postal questionnaire sent to the selected companies.

Structural Equational Modeling (SEM) was used to apprehend the strategic alignment concept as an emergent variable derived from the co-variation of (1) level of business strategy; and (2) level of IS/IT strategy. Thus, we explore the role of this emergent concept as a determinant of organizational performance. Analysis of the data reveals a generally positive impact towards the organizational performance.
